Yana Gupta is a Czech model-actress currently working in India. She has appeared on numerous magazine covers, including Lakme, ELLE, Cosmopolitan and Femina.

Biography:


Yana began her modeling career in 1990's. She even worked on brands like Nivea and Shiseido before settling in India, where her husband was based.


Yana Gupta was named the new face for Lakme cosmetics in India in 2001, replacing its former model Lisa Ray.

Yana came in spotlight after having replaced dusky beauty Bipasha Basu in the Bollywood movie "Dum" for the song 'Babuji' which made her famous for cameo item numbers.

Yaana was one of the strongest contenders in the popular TV show Khatron Ke Khiladi hosted by Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar. Fear Factor - Khatron Ke Khiladi on Colors TV. She was a participant in a Dancing show called Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, Season 4, an Indian version of BBC's Strictly Come Dancing and ABC's Dancing with the Stars.

 

Personal Life:


Yana got married to Indian artist Satyakam Gupta in Pune and changed her last name from Synkova to Gupta. She divorced Gupta in 2005. In 2008 she altered her given name to Yaana.



Controversy:


Indian Media made a huge buzz about paparazzi pictures taken of Yaana at a charity event in Mumbai, wearing no panties. Yana Gupta, Sushila Nirali (the organizer of the event) and the photographer who clicked those photos were sued for the 'pantyless stunt'.


 

Fashion:


Yana believes in wearing long, swirling skirts and dresses. This has less to do with my being Czech and more to do with her love for dancing and a sense of movement in her clothes. In colors, red, orange, hot pink, works for her.
